2025
In 2025, the Airlie Beach Lifeguard Club, teamed up with Royal Life Saving Society Queensland, Oceanic Tales and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service to deliver another successful school holiday initiative. Funded by Queensland Police Service, this program instills water safety and life saving techniques to all participants, while encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.
Each day brought fresh challenges and learning opportunities for the participants, keeping the program dynamic and engaging. From First Aid, CPR, and Defibrillator awareness sessions to beach-based challenges and team-building exercises, every activity was designed to build both skill and confidence. Water safety strategies, rescue techniques, and essential lifesaving skills were woven into the daily schedule, creating a well-rounded experience that was as educational as it was exciting.
The Airlie Beach Lifeguard Club is grateful for the continued support of the local community and the Whitsundays Regional Council. Their ongoing commitment allows the club to maintain regular patrols at the Boathaven Beach stinger net and bathing reserve, helping to expand vital programs and promote a safer beach environment for all.
